BOUNCING INTO GOD'S ARMS!

“He will not let your foot slip – He who watches over you will not slumber.” Psalm 121:3

Many years ago, we had a school family that had three of the most adorable and energetic boys you ever met! Both mom and dad were wonderful Christian parents who did an outstanding job channeling the abundant levels of energy and creativity that these boys exuded into very positive experiences. However, it seemed that whatever activity they would present to their boys, the lively gentlemen had a knack to always raise the risk factor. If the parents took them skiing, the boys ended up on the most challenging course. When they bought them bikes, the boys were riding them off ramps. When they purchased skateboards, the boys were looking for the steepest hills to ride them down. So when trampolines started to become popular, this particular set of parents were some of the initial pioneers who purchased one for their backyard in hopes that it would allow the boys to release some of their reserved energy sources. The boys really enjoyed the trampoline; things were going along wonderfully until one day when the mom received a phone call at work from one of the neighbors. After a pleasant greeting and an apology for bothering the mom at work, the neighbor continued the conversation with the comment, “I thought that you might like to know that as we speak, I am watching your boys climb out of their bedroom window and pull themselves up onto the roof of your house so that they can jump down onto your trampoline!”

Immediately, the mom called her boys at home and stated, “I don’t know why, but I just have a feeling that you are doing something very dangerous right now, like climbing on and jumping off the roof?! So if you are, you better stop immediately or you will be grounded when I get home!” Immediately, the boys halted their roof top experiences with no clue or idea regarding how their mom knew.

A few weeks had passed, and the boys thought that all was forgotten. So, once again, out came the window screens and the boys resumed their acrobatic act that would make circus managers drool with envy. However, that same neighbor just happened to be home once again and immediately reported the repeat offense to their mom. Once again, the phone call to the home came with screeching instructions that only an angry mother’s voice can produce, “STOP JUMPING OFF THE ROOF NOW!” Totally in awe of her wisdom, the boys immediately cancelled their next performance as they tried to figure out how their mom could be so smart!

As God’s children, we truly have an “all knowing” Heavenly Father who constantly watches over us. We are constantly in His care; He is always with us. Scripture states that our God does not sleep or slumber. We can have total peace knowing that He is always aware of our circumstances. He sees and knows each of our accomplishments as well as our challenges. In addition, there is no problem that we are facing where He will not provide a solution.

As we reflect upon this past school year, we rejoice for all of the numerous times where God’s watchful eye was protecting and guiding our students and school.

There were numerous times when God significantly blessed our school-wide accomplishments to help those who were in need. Additionally, He has blessed us with amazing academic accomplishments as well as significant athletic and DI victories. There were numerous medical situations where the Lord's hand worked powerfully to help and heal various members of our school community. Also, He has wiped away tears of grief and helped members of our school community process painful circumstances.

Through it all, the Lord has been so incredibly faithful! What a tremendous comfort to know that He is always watching over us!

In His Love,

Mrs. Palka
