Our prayer is for the Lord to "give us His eyes" so we can have the ability to see areas where we can be the hands and feet of Jesus and complete acts of kindness. Sometimes, these activities may include the opportunity to witness the name of Jesus, but many times, service involves a more subtle approach to sharing God's love with others. Service projects that our students participate in include:
- Bake Sales offering homemade baked goods for World Vision Clean Water Initiative, Lutheran World Relief efforts in Ukraine, and more
- Family 6K World Vision Run to help children obtain clean water
- Grades 6 through 8 serving Camp Restore Detroit with Community Leaders to work with community gardens & parks, blight removal, autumn landscape renewal, and more
- Playing BINGO with residents at local nursing homes
- Raking leaves for homebound seniors
- Cleaning and raking our church grounds
- Collecting food for Hospitality House
- Assembling meals for Kids Against Hunger
- Collecting snack items to assemble into snack bags for First Responders in the community
- Grades 6 through 8 harvesting vegetables at Forgotten Harvest Farm for needy families
- Collecting books for Mott Children’s Hospital
