“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phillippians 4:6-7
As a teaching staff, we begin each school day by gathering together for devotions.
Throughout the year, every teacher takes a turn to share and reflect upon God’s word, as well lead us in prayer, because we believe that God works powerfully through prayer.
Last year, before she even had the opportunity to be married, Mrs. Osbron shared a personal reflection of how her mom would sing blessings over each of her children. Afterwards, she shared with us Katy Nicole’s song “I Speak The Name Of Jesus Over You” and expressed, “Every time I hear this song, I just keep envisioning what a beautiful blessing it would be for a mom to sing this song over her child!”
Fast forward about one year later on March 1, 2023, when Mrs. Osbron was given the opportunity to start singing this beautiful blessing over her new son, AJ, as he arrived three months early and stayed in an incubator located in the hospital’s NICU. As she visited him each day during his ten-week stay, she had the opportunity to pray over him and watch God work in powerful ways as he grew and gradually gained his independence from all medical equipment.
Last Tuesday, God gave Mrs. Osbron a precious early Mother’s Day gift as Baby AJ was discharged from this hospital. And... if you look carefully at his picture, you can see the lyrics of the song “I Speak The Name Of Jesus Over You” printed on his blanket!
I speak the name of Jesus over you
In your hurting, in your sorrow
I will ask my God to move
I speak the name the name of Jesus ‘cause it’s all that I can do
In desperation, I’ll seek Heaven
And pray this for you
I pray for your healing
That circumstances would change
I pray that the fear inside would flee in Jesus name
I pray that a breakthrough would happen today
I pray miracles over your life in Jesus name, in Jesus name
I speak the name of all authority
Declaring blessings, every promise
He is faithful to keep
I speak the name no grave could ever hold
He is greater, He is stronger
He’s the God of possible
As moms, each of us will possess many roles throughout our children’s lives. Praise God for moms who are the cheerleaders, encouragers, and taxi-drivers who can memorize the daily schedule of events in a blink of an eye. Praise God for moms who spend late nights talking with their children and helping them process the events that transpired throughout the day, who endure sleepless nights staying up with a sick child, and who wipe away tears of frustration and hurt. Praise God for moms, who in the difficult situations, point their children to Jesus for direction and guidance.
But most of all… praise God for a mom who puts her trust in Jesus and calls upon Him in all circumstances to guide and watch over her child.
And if you are a mom reading this... we praise God for you!
Happy Mother’s Day!
In Jesus’ Love,
Mrs. Palka
